How to Play

Walk over every square on the grid or blow cold air across the tiles so that every tile turns to ice.

• Starting the Game
  • Press the spacebar to start the game.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress.
  • The lower right corner of the welcome screen has a button for erasing game progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Press the left arrow key to move left a square, or to blow ice left.
    • Press the right arrow key to move left a square, or to blow ice right.
    • Press the down arrow key to move left a square, or to blow ice down.
    • Press the up arrow key to move left a square, or to blow ice up.
    • Press the spacebar at the start of the game, or at the end of each level to advance to the next level.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use the on-screen controls.
      • The move left and move right buttons are in the lower left corner of the screen.
      • The move up and move down buttons are in the lower right corner of the screen.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left shows the current level number.
    • The upper right has buttons for restarting the current level and pausing the game.
      • While the game is paused there is an overlay to go to the welcome screen, control game sound, control game music, and resume play.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • The goal of this game is to turn every square to ice.
    • There are two ways to create an ice square:
      • Walk across the square with the penguin.
      • Attempt to walk toward the square in the same row or column while standing behind an ice square to blow ice air across to turn subsequent squares into ice.
    • When a tile has turned to ice you can not walk across it again, though can try to move toward it to blow cold air onto other squares behind it to turn the other squares into ice.
  • Levels
    • This game has 30 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over.
      • When you beat the final level the game advances to a black screen.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You beat a stage by turning every square (except the one you are standing on) into solid ice, by either walking on it or blowing ice air at it.
      • You lose if you get stuck to where there are one or more unreachable squares.
      • This game offers unlimited continues. Press the level restart button in the upper right to restart the current level.
  • Tips
    • Blowing cold air
      • If there are disconnected tiles the only way to reach them is to blow cold air across to them.
      • If you know you want to blow ice across a certain direction you can make a front wall of ice then walk back on the row behind it, blowing ice across each cell as you move along.
    • Movement path
      • Try to develop a strategy which deals with the irregular parts of the stage early & leaves groups of tiles that are regular squares, rectangles, or lines.
      • If you have squares left over from a run consider going in a different direction around the course, or adjusting your path to cover some squares earlier via a blow or extra square walk.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for players who like logic puzzle or spatial puzzle games.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
