How to Play

Sort 12 items according to the state of matter thye correspond to.

  • Starting the Game
    • Select the green start button to load the welcome screen.
    • On the welcome screen, select go at the bottom center corner to begin.
    • The game will begin with a brief introduction to the states of matter.
  • Game Controls
    • Desktop
      • Using your mouse, left click and drag to move the item to their proper place in the chart.
    • Touchscreen devices
      • Tap the screen with your fingers and use them like a mouse.
  • Game Play
    • Basic
      • Select the item from the professor’s hand and drag them to the category they belong to.
      • Sort all 12 items correctly to gain a perfect score.
    • Determining the state of matter:
      • Solid
        • Solids retain their shape.
        • They have a definite mass and volume.
        • They tend to be hard.
        • Particles are packed densely together, with little free space locked in a rigid placement.
      • Liquids
        • Liquids take the shape of their container. They have no defined shape.
        • They do have mass and volume that remains constant as long as they fit in the space inside the container.
        • Particles are still quite dense, with limited free space between them, but move around regularly.
      • Gases
        • Gases don’t have a definite shape.
        • They take the shape of their container and will keep spreading out to fit all of the container.
        • Thus, they do not have a constant mass or volume.
        • Particles move around quickly.
      • Plasma
        • This is the fourth state of matter, which is not featured in this game.
        • Plasma is ionized gas.
  • Target Audience
    • The game is suited for children learning science basics.
    • The game has no adult content.
