How to Play

Estimate your answer by rounding off the numbers in each math problem. Answer 5 correct questions in a row to proceed to the striking minigame.

• Starting the Game
  • Select the white and green play button to begin.
  • On the welcome screen, select go on the bottom center to begin.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use the number keys on your keyboard to type in your answers.
    • Press the enter key to submit your answer.
      • Alternately, you can submit by left clicking on the Check button with your mouse.
    • With your mouse, left click to lock in the coordinates of your soccer strike.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Although this game might load on touchscreen devices, its controls were optimized for desktops with keyboards.

  • Mode selection
    • At the start of the game, choose a mathematical operator to work on.
      • Addition
      • Subtraction
      • Multiplication
      • Division
    • Pick a difficulty level to estimate:
      • Level 1 (tens)
      • Level 2 (hundreds)
      • Level 3 (thousands)
      • Level 4 (decimals)
    • Choose a player avatar.
  • Main game
    • Estimate the answer of the math problem presented.
      • Estimates aren’t exact, but must come close to the true amount by a certain place value.
      • Rather than giving a precise answer, type in a rounded number based on the rounded forms of the two numbers.
      • Example. The estimated value of the sum of 57 and 64.
        • Round 57 to 60 and 64 to 60.
        • 60 + 60 =120. This will be our estimated amount.
        • The true value of the sum is 121, which is very close to the estimated amount.

    • Each time you answer correctly, you earn 1 ball.
      • You will lose all your balls if you answer any of the questions wrong.
      • You also lose 10 points for every incorrect answer you make.
      • Earn 5 penalty balls to proceed to the striking game.
  • Striking game
    • View the targeting system on the lower left corner of the screen.
      • The ball moves left and right, then up and down the axes of the targeting system.
      • Lock them in by left clicking on the button below.
      • Stop the ball at the red circle in the center twice to ensure that your ball enters the goal.
    • Keep playing until you run out of balls. From there, you can play the game all over again.
  • Scoring
    • Points and penalties
      • A correct answer wins you 10 points.
      • A successful strike is worth 10 points.
      • An incorrect answer subtracts 10 points from your score.
    • Answer all 5 questions correctly and miss none of the shots, you can earn at most 100 points in a single round.
      • You can earn a much higher score by answering 4 of the questions correctly. If you fail the last question, you lose 10 points and all of your balls.
      • By repeating this process, you can keep increasing your score 30 points at a time.
      • You can keep boosting your score like this without ever proceeding to the striking game.

  • The game is suited for math students learning how to quickly round and estimate numbers used in addition, subtraction, multiplication or division.
  • The game has no adult content.
