How to Play

Select the word you want to spell and enter the letters from it using the tiles at the bottom of the screen.

  • Select the green and white button to go to the welcome screen.
  • On the welcome screen, select the play button below the game’s title to begin.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Using your mouse, left click to select a cell from the word you want to spell.
    • Select the letter tiles at the bottom to fill in the words.
    • Letters which are already filled in from prior words do not need re-entered.
    • If you accidentally enter the wrong letter you can press the backspace key to delete it.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the screen with your fingers to select.
• Game Play
  • Game modes
    • Pick whether you want to play online or on a print-out.
      • Print
        • Choosing this option open a preview of the game’s crossword puzzle as it would appear on a piece of paper.
        • Select print to open the print options dialog box in your local device.
        • Select back to return to the welcome screen.
      • Online
        • Playing the game online opens an interactive version of the crossword puzzle on the app.
        • The rules of the game are different from the print version, which plays like a regular crossword puzzle.

    • Basic
      • Select any of the squares to begin.
      • Using only the letters on the bottom row, write down the answer based on the clue.
      • If you answer correctly stars will move to your points total.
      • If you answer incorrectly the word will appear red, but it does not deduct points from your score.
    • Hints
      • Use hints to reveal a few letters of the word.
      • The hint button is located on the lower left corner of the screen.
      • Each time you use a hint, 10 points are deducted from your score.
    • Scoring
      • You start with a base score of 10.
      • Each letter of each correct word you spell is worth a point.
      • A perfect score is 10 points plus a point for each letter block.
      • To get a perfect score, you must solve the crossword puzzle without using any hints.
