How to Play

Game Play
- Deal
  - This game uses 2 standard 52-card decks along with Jokers.
  - Tableau
    - On the first level 67 cards are dealt across 7 columns.
    - Each stack contains 10, 8, 6, 11, 14, 5, and 13 cards.
    - Other levels have different stack orientations.
  - Reserves
    - 36 cards are dealt to the reserves.
    - Reserves are dealt 1 at a time when you have 1 play stack open.
    - As you access the keys and unlock addition play stacks you get a card dealt to each play stack whenever you use the reserves.
    - You can only shuffle through the reserves once.
  - Jokers
    - On the first level you are dealt 4 Jokers.
    - As you progress through the game you are dealt fewer Jokers, with the final level only giving you 1 Joker.
- Playing
  - Play cards on the tableau which are one higher or lower than a card on one of the reserve stacks.
  - When you play down to the key in a stack that opens up another play stack.
    - When you have multiple play stacks open you deal a card to each from the reserves.
    - Having multiple play stacks open makes it easier to keep making matches.
  - Use Jokers to enable matches.
- Levels
  - This game has 10 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
    - You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the first level.
    - You beat a level by clearing all cards off the tableau.
    - You fail a level if the timer reaches zero or you run out of cards to make valid plays.
    - If you fail a level you can retry it as this game offers unlimited continues.
  - Timers
    - The first level offers a 7-minute timer.
    - Each subsequent level gives you a 30-second shorter time limit to where you must beat the final level in 2:30.
- Strategy
  - This game does not have a chain bonus & the remaining time is worth a limited number of points, so the key to maximizing your score is to beat the level with as many remaining reserve cards as you possibly can.
    - The way to do the above is to aggressively work down the tableau early in the game, particularly the columns with keys on them.
    - Be willing to use Jokers early to unlock multiple play columns so you can make more matches each time you deal from the reserves.
  - As you progress through the game, after the keys have been collected, it is best to try to work on whichever columns are longest whenever possible so that you do not have the short columns removed while needing to make many consecutive matches from a single long column.
    - Having multiple columns to match against increases the odds you can create a match, and increases the odds you can create a consecutive run of moves across columns.
  - Duplicates
    - If you see multiple of the same card on the tableau try to take out some of them early so you have a greater diversity of cards to match against.
  - Overlapping play stacks
    - In some cases you will have 2 different cards on the tableau which match 2 different play stacks.
    - When one card matches only one stack and the other card matches two stacks play the card which matches only one stack first.
    - This game does not have an undo button, so if you play the card matching two stacks first and it plays to the wrong stack you may not be able to play the other card.
  - On the last couple levels you have to play quickly, but on earlier levels it is best to play more strategically with an emphasis on unlocking the keys & trying to retain as many cards in the reserves as you can.
- Scoring
  - Your game score is cumulative across levels.
  - Each card you remove from the tableau is worth 50 points.
  - You score 200 points for each card you have remaining in the reserves at the end of a level.
    - Remaining Jokers are also scored at 200 points.
  - Each second you have remaining when you beat a level is worth 2 points.

  - You can shuffle through the reserves multiple times, though as you progress through the game you get fewer cards in each shuffle in later levels.
- Basic rules
  - Objectives
    - Remove the cards by selecting a card that’s one value higher or lower than the open card on the bottom right corner.
      - Left click or tap on any of the cards to remove it.
      - For aces, you can play either a king or a 2.
      - Jokers can be paired with any card.
    - Only free cards can be removed. Free cards have no cards on top of them.
    - Clear the entire stack within 10 minutes.
      - You will lose if you can’t finish clearing the stack in time.
      - You will also lose if you run out of valid moves.
      - When that happens, you can end the game or try the level again.
      - If you end the game, you have the option to save your current score in the leaderboard.
  - Dealing
    - If none of the available cards on the stack can be used, you can deal one card from the stack.
    - When you cycle through all the cards, the game reshuffles the remaining cards on the closed deck.
    - You only have a limited number of cards to deal.
      - You can only reshuffle cards that haven’t been covered by a valid chain of cards.
      - If you have too few cards left on the closed stack, you might not be able to play any further.
  - Jokers
    - You receive a Joker every time you make 4 consecutive moves from the tableau without drawing on the reserves.
    - You can receive 2 additional Jokers by making 8 consecutive moves.
    - Use jokers sparingly. They can be used to conserve the number of cards you can deal from the closed stacks.
    - It is easier to earn Jokers on the wider parts of the tableau since there are many potential matches.
    - It is generally best to use Jokers on the narrowest parts of the tableau so you can quickly work your way up to wider parts of the tableau.
  - Undos
    - You earn undos based on the number of moves you make.
    - You can earn a maximum of 3 undos.
    - Use undos to take back your last move. This can be crucial in finding out what moves to use.
      - For instance, you can use undos to find out what card comes next in the stack. This way, you can choose whether to use a card from the stack or a joke as your next face card.
      - Undos can also help you take back critical mistakes.
- Levels
  - Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    - You automatically start at the first level each time you begin a new playthrough.
    - Finish one level to unlock the next.
    - Select Next level to proceed to the next level.
    - You can’t go back to replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the first level.
  - Each time you reload the game, it asks you if you want to resume your previous progress.
    - Select Continue previous game to resume the game from the last level you unlocked.
    - Select Start new game to begin a new session from the first level.
  - Each level gives you 10 minutes to complete the game.
    - While the level timer remains the same across levels the higher levels are vertically taller, requiring you to play faster and make more matches.
    - If you fail a level you can replay it an unlimited number of times.
- Strategy
  - Try to work on all sides of the tableau at the same time as you can have some cards off screen if you work down one side and leave a long tail hanging.
  - Use Jokers to clear out duplicate numbers on thin parts of the level when no adjacent numbers are shown.
  - Anytime you can use a Joker to make a consecutive run of four or more in a row it makes sense to as you’ll earn another Joker back while removing many cards from the tableau quickly.
  - When you get down to the last 3 or 4 levels you have to play fast to finish on time.
- Scoring
  - Your score is cumulative and carries onto every other level.
    - Each card you clear is worth 200 points. As you make sequences of moves the subsequent cards are worth more.
    - You gain a bonus 750 points for clearing 4 consecutive cards in a row.
    - You also receive 3 points for every second remaining on the timer when you complete a level.
  - Each time you click on the wrong card, you lose 100 points.

In some cases you will end up needing to switch directions, however if you do it more than once you’ll likely leave cards you can’t get back to.
    - Try to play from cards stacks with more cards on them first & try to save stacks of only 1 card for near the end of the level unless you need to use them to keep the free cells clear.
    - You can temporarily store cards in the the free cells to enable access to other cards.
  - Free cell
    - Levels give you 2 free cells to use.
    - You can place any card from the bottom of a stack in these, but each free cell can hold only a single card.
    - You can play cards from the free cells back into play onto the waste pile in the black hole, which will enable you to use the free cell again.
    - To beat the level the entire tableau of cards must be cleared. You can’t have leftover cards in the free cells at the end of the level.
- Levels
  - This game has 15 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
    - You can’t go back and replay previously beat levels without starting the game over at the first level.
  - Level timers
    - The first level gives you 6:59 to complete it.
    - The level time limits decrease as you progress through the game.
    - For example, the time limit on level 3 is 6:10, the time limit on level 4 is 5:47, and the level time on level 5 is 5:23.
  - You beat a level by discarding all cards on the stage into the waste pile before the timer runs out.
    - You can not have any cards in a free cell position or on the tableau at the end of the level or you lose.

    - The eighth column is locked. You unlock the eighth column by clearing the 4 bottom cards and the first, third, and fifth columns on the tableau.
  - 1 card is dealt to the waste pile.
  - 49 cards are dealt to the reserves.
- Playing
  - This game plays similarly to Golf Solitaire or Tripeaks Solitaire, where you can play cards which are 1 higher or 1 lower than the top card on the waste pile.
    - When plays are no longer possible draw another card from the reserves.
    - You have 5 minutes to clear the tableau.
  - Jokers
    - Along with using 2 standard decks this game also contains 2 Jokers which can appear on either the tableau or within the reserves.
    - You can lay a Joker on any other card & you can then lay any other card on top of a Joker.
    - Since Jokers offer flexibility in both directions (when they appear on the tableau & are not in the reserves) you can wait to play a Joker until you have a long streak going and then try to continue the streak with other cards. Laying a Joker does not interrupt the chain bonus multiplier.
  - Strategy
    - Since the eighth row is locked it is important to work down the columns with keys on them early to be able to work on the eighth row while working on other columns.
    - Outside of it being imperative to unlock the eighth column early, the other big thing that should be done is try to work on all columns in parallel so that you have many valid play options available.
      - If you have many of the same card value showing on top of a stack you should use one of the values with repeats early so that you have more diversity showing across your stacks.
      - While most cards are face down, use any face up cards to help drive your play strategy.
      - If the same card is on a column with no other cards & a column with other cards buried you should try to reveal the under card instead of playing from the final card of a column.
- Scoring
  - Each card you remove from the tableau is worth 20 points, with there being a scoring multiplier for long consecutive streaks.
    - The third card activates the 2x multiple, making cards 3 through 5 in the streak worth 40 points each.
    - The sixth card activates the 3x multiple, making cards 6 through 9 worth 60 points each.
    - The tenth card activates the 4x multiple, making cards 10 through 13 worth 80 points each.
    - The fourteenth card activates the 5x multiple, making cards 14 through 17 worth 100 points each.
    - The eighteenth card activates the 6x multiple, making cards 18 through 21 worth 120 points each.
    - The twenty second card activates the 7x multiple, making cards 22 through 26 worth 140 points each.
    - The twenty seventh card activates the 8x multiple, worth 160 points.
    - The chain bonus stays active as long as you keep making moves from the tableau & ends the moment you draw another card from the reserves.

  - This game uses the standard Tripeaks Solitaire tableau layout where 28 cards are dealt across the Tripeaks, with the 10 cards in the bottom shared row face up & all other cards face down.
  - A card is dealt to the waste pile.
  - Reserves
    - On the first level 27 cards to the reserves.
    - On each subsequent level you get one fewer card in the reserves.
- Playing
  - Basics
    - Select cards on the tableau which are one higher or lower than the card atop the waste pile.
    - Draw another card from the reserves or use a Wild Card if you can’t make any more moves on the tableau.
  - Bonus cards
    - This game has 4 bonus cards hidden inside the tableau on each level.
      - Wild Card: This can be played at any time to keep a chain bonus streak going or to make a hard to match pair.
      - Golden Card: Temporarily doubles the score you earn so long as you keep the current chain active.
      - Chain +1: Boosts your chain bonus by one.
      - Make Visible: This card depicting a card with its corner turned up will make all remaining cards on the tableau visible for a couple seconds.
    - Any unused bonus cards get carried forward to the next stage.
- Levels
  - This game has 6 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
    - You can’t go back to replay previously beat levels without starting the game over.
  - You are given 4 minutes to beat each level.
    - If you lose a level by running out of time or playable cards it is game over.
    - When your game ends you can submit your score to the high score list.
    - If you want to continue a game after failing a level do not hit the End Game button, but instead refresh your web browser, then when you click the play button again you can continue your prior game.
- Strategy
  - Try to work on all parts of the tableau at once rather than leaving one long leg while working down the other parts.
    - This ensures each card you pull from the reserves has a greater chance of matching one of the cards you need & makes it easier to build longer chain bonuses.
    - It also prevents you from having to sequentially precisely match only one value repeatedly.
  - Continuing after failing a level
    - If you want to continue a game after failing a level do not hit the End Game button, but instead refresh your web browser, then when you click the play button again you can continue your prior game.
  - Maximizing your level score
    - The key to maximizing your score is to take advantage of the chain bonus.
      - When you see many sequential matchable cards on the tableau immediately use double score and chain bonus cards as soon as you can match into that run.
      - When the run ends use a Joker and then continue the run.
      - If you are unsure which cards to use to continue the run or which direction to go on a run with multiple options you can use the Make Visible card to see what cards you’ll make accessible from various move options.
- Scoring
  - Your game score is cumulative across levels.
  - Each card you remove from the playing field is worth 50 points.
  - Chain bonus
    - By making multiple consecutive moves on the tableau without dealing another card from the reserves you can activate a chain bonus.
    - The chain bonus is a multiplier of the card lay value, so a chain bonus of 9 is worth 450 points.
  - Each unused card you have remaining in the talon or reserves at the end of the level is worth 15 points.
  - Each second you have remaining at the end of beating a level is worth 5 points.

    - The first card you lay is worth 100.
    - When you make multiple consecutive plays on the tableau you activate a bonus multiplier where the second card is worth 200, the third card is worth 300, and so on.
    - Using the Joker does not reset the chain bonus multiplier, but drawing from the regular reserves does.
  - Unused cards from the reserves are worth 50 points each when you complete a level.
  - An unused Joker is worth 500 points.
  - Each second you have remaining on the clock when you beat a level is worth 30 points.

  - The first level gives you 9:10 to complete it. Each subsequent level gives you 50 seconds less to beat it, to where you must beat the final level in 1:40.
  - All boards use a standard Tripeaks layout, with 10 cards face up in the bottom row & then 3 additional rows above which are face down and contain 9, 6 and 3 cards each. 24 cards are dealt to the reserves & players get one wild bat card per levvel.
  - If you run out of time or cards on a level you can click Try Again to continue your game replaying the prior level or click on End Game to finish play.
- Playing
  - Try to remove cards across the board at the same time rather than working down one side of the board and leaving the other side full.
  - You can move in both directions when removing cards (e.g. higher then lower or lower then higher) and the deck wraps allowing you to connect Aces and Kings.
  - If you want to maximize your score it makes sense to try to keep the streak bonus going as long as possible. Since each second is only worth a point the streak bonus is much more important than how quickly you play.
  - If you make a play error you can use the undo button to undo moves.

    - The 10 cards on the bottom layer are dealt face up & the remaining cards on the tableau are dealt face down.
  - Reserves
    - 24 cards are dealt to the reserves.
    - The stock reserve cards are dealt one at a time.
    - You also get 1 Joker which you can play at any time.
- Basic rules
  - Objectives
    - Remove all the cards in the stack.
      - Choose a card that is one value higher or lower than the face card found on the bottom right corner.
      - To remove a card, simply left click or tap on it. This card becomes the new face card.
        Any card, regardless of suit or color, can be paired with another if it has the right value.
        Aces can be paired with both kings and twos.
      - You can only remove free cards. Free cards are face-up cards with no cards above them.
    - Select the undo button to take back your previous action.
      - You can only undo your latest action.
      - This can come in handy if you ever make a mistake.
    - Clear the entire stack before the timer runs out.
      - You will fail the level if you run out of time or valid moves.
      - When you fail a level, you have the choice of replaying the level or ending your playthrough.
  - Dealing cards
    - You can deal another card if you cannot find a card that matches your current face card.
    - Select Next Card to deal a new face card from the stock.
    - Keep dealing a new card until you find one that you can use.
    - You only have 23 cards on the stock.
  - The Joker
    - The Joker card can be paired with a card of any value.
    - It is located to the right of the waste pile. When you select it, it replaces the face card on the waste pile.
    - This game only has one joker per level. Make it count.
- Levels
  - Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    - You start the game with only the first level unlocked.
    - Finish one level to unlock the next.
    - After you finish a level, you return to the level selection screen.
  - There are 10 levels in this game.
    - You can replay any level you’ve already unlocked to try to earn a better score on it.
    - If you fail a level you can try it again.
  - Timers
    - The first stage has a 2:50 level timer.
    - Each subsequent stage has a 10 second shorter timer to where you must beat the final level in under 1:20.
- Strategy
  - You only get to shuffle through the reserves once, so you have to make them count.
  - Try to get a long chain bonus going early in the level & then when it is about to end use the Joker to continue it and make more plays.
    - The longer you keep a chain going the more incremental points you make on each subsequent play.
  - If you still have the Joker in hand and do not have a lot of cards left in the reserves & some cards on the tableau are still face down it may make sense to use the Joker to try to get all cards facing up so that any other potential match can be made as you shuffle through the remaining reserve cards from the stock.
  - If you fail a level or get a poor score on it you can replay it an unlimited number of times to try to earn a better score on it.
  - If you have many of the same card showing on the tableau try to take some of them out as soon as you can so your cards showing are more diverse.
  - Try to work on all parts of the Tripeaks in conjunction rather than leaving a long leg while working off the rest of the tableau.
- Scoring
  - Every point you earn in the level makes up your level score.
    - You earn points for every card you remove.
      - Your first card removed is worth 100 points.
      - Chain bonus
        Each subsequent card in a chain increases in value.
        The second card you remove is worth 200 points, the third one 300 points, and so on.
        You get no points for playing the Joker, but using the Joker in the middle of a chain keeps the chain bonus going. The chain bonus is the key to maximizing your level scores.
        When you deal a new face card, the value resets back to 100.
    - You also receive bonus points at the end of the level:
      - Each card remaining in the reserves deal row is worth 50 points.
      - An unused Joker is worth 500 points.
      - Each second left in the timer when a level is beat is worth 30 bonus points.
    - You can see your level score below the level’s icon on the selection screen.
  - Your total score is the sum of all your level scores so far.
    - Every new level you play adds to your total score.
    - You can also change your total score by replaying a level and earning a higher score. The difference between it and your old score is added to your total score.
  - You can save your total score to the leaderboard through the following means:
    - You finish all 10 levels.
    - You fail a level and save your final score.

    - If you run out of cards while still having beetle cards remaining on the tableau that you can not play you lose the level.
      - You can replay levels again as this game offers unlimited continues.
      - If you replay a level you will see the same exact board layout, though the cards will be reshuffled.
- Strategy
  - Like most games of Tripeaks you typically want to go after whichever plays help you open up the board quickly & whichever cards have many cards underneath them.
    - If often makes sense to use Jokers early to help open up the playing field while your draw stack still has many cards in it.
  - If there is a special card buried in a column it makes sense to try to get rid of whatever cards are above it early in the game, as the matching special card that can deal with a roped or chained card also blocks any cards which are underneath the sword or hammer.
  - This game is not timed, so if you want to maximize your score the keys to doing so are activating the chain bonus multiplier & efficiently using your reserve cards so that you have many left at the end of the level.
  - If you have 2 parallel paths you are debating you can leverage the move undo button to try both paths before choosing which one to stick with.
