How to Play

Help the Cat in the Hat and crew get to Rover. Use the gravity of the Solar System’s planets, moons, and asteriods to get you where you need to go.

  • Desktop
    • Move the mouse to aim.
    • Left click to lock in the angle of trajectory.
    • Left click on the launch button to fire.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Use your fingers like a mouse.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • Jump over the planet, dwarf planet, or moon to catch up with Rover the space dog.
      • To clear the level, you must reach the asteroid where Rover is staying.
      • Avoid hazards like satellites that shoot electricity.
        • Time your launches with care to avoid them.
      • Check your angle of trajectory through the indicators.
        • If you fail the level, the indicator trail gets longer.
        • This will help you get a better idea of how your ship responds to gravity in that angle.
      • You can clear the level without collecting space junk.
        • There are also paths to Rover that may or may not have space junk.
        • The clear paths are often easier that the cluttered ones.
    • Collect the space junk along the way.
      • Collecting all the space junk re-assembles a satellite.
      • A complete satellite represents the highest score in the level.
      • Some space junk is located away from your main path.
        • Use the effects of gravity to collect these items.
        • This is not always straightforward.
        • You must angle your ship correctly to collect everything in one go.

    • You start immediately on the first level, the Moon.
    • The level selection screen only becomes available after you complete your first mission.
    • You must unlock each level one by one.
      • To play one level, you must clear the level before it.
    • Each of the 10 levels is themed for an astronomic object:
      • Moons

        • Rocky planets
          • Mercury
          • Venus
          • Earth
          • Mars
        • Gas planets
          • Jupiter
          • Saturn

      • Dwarf planets (Cat helpfully points out that Pluto isn’t a planet)

    • A feature of this game is the gravity well.
      • Planets, moons, dwarf planets, and asteroids have a pull of gravity.
      • Get too close to any astronomic objects and you will crash.
      • Gravity will play a key role in completing the level.

      • Gravity will eventually bring your ship close to Rover’s asteroid.
      • At the right angle, your ship will go in specific directions because of gravity’s effects.
      • You can use gravity to collect space junk in odd places.

    • Pay attention to the gravity wells.

      • If the level select screen shows a satellite it means you collected all the space junk.
      • If it shows space junk it means you missed some pieces on prior plays.
