How to Play

Cat in the Hat is developing the Frictionarium slide park. Help Nick and Sally test out his adjustable new slides.

• Starting the Game
  • Select the play button on the lower right corner oft he welcome screen to begin the game.
  • The game is narrated. Cat’s commentary will serve as your game’s tutorial.
• Game Controls

    • Left click on the buttons as they appear on the screen.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the buttons as they appear on the screen.
• Game Play
  • Basics
    • Select the play button on the top center corner of the screen to try out the slides.
    • Edit Nick and Sally’s slides to change the outcome.
      • To change the slide’s height, select the up and down arrow buttons on the left side of the screen.
      • To coat a slide, select a substance from the bottom row, then drag it on the surface of the slide.
    • Follow Cat’s on-screen instructions to clear the level.
  • Slide speed
    • Slide speed is largely based on height, like in real life.
    • Nick and Sally go down faster in higher slides due to friction, but that’s not the only thing involved.
  • Coating
    • In later levels, you can coat your slide in a substance.
      • Slick, smooth substances like ice, butter, or oil can make Nick and Sally it go faster.
      • Likewise, sticky or rough substances like sand or honey make them go down slower.
    • To change the substance, wash the slide before applying a new coating. T
      • he option to wash the slide is located to the right of the other coatings.
    • Find out what the substance is like by using the magnifier on the lower right corner of the screen.
