You would often need to use one hamster to operate the machine, and one hamster to draw.
Each time you select a hamster for drawing duty, the game will first ask you what color they will paint with. They have a palette of 6 different colors.
When you need to take them down, put them on the floor until you need them again.
Once the hamsters are on the floor, you can drag them back to the ladder.

Simple machine controls
Use gears to draw circles
There are two kinds of gears:
Solid gears provide a platform for the hamsters to stand on. They’re used to draw circles.
Hollow gears allow a hamster to run inside them. They provide a means for the solid gears to turn.
Place a solid gear where you want to draw.
Place a hamster on it.
Place the hollow gear anywhere next to the solid gear.
Put a hamster inside the hollow gear to have it start turning.
The hamster on the solid gear will draw a circle as the gears turn.
Ramps create diagonal lines.
Use the arrows to the side of the ramps to change its size.
Choose a ramp that faces left or right.
Adjust the arrows to change the steepness and height of the ramp.
Place a hamster on the top of the ramp.
Select the green button next to the hamster to have them slide down.
Put the hamster back onto the ramp if you want to make the line thicker.
Pulleys let you create straight, vertical lines.
Place a pulley anywhere on screen to have it ready for use. It always draws on the right (hook) side.
Put one hamster on the hook side of the pulley.
Place the other hamster on the other side. Once you do, they begin pulling the other hamster upwards.
The ascending hamster will draw a straight line as they go up.
To make the line thicker, select and drag the pulling hamster away, then put them back. Repeat as often as possible.
Springs let you create both vertical lines and arcs.
The spring’s shape determines whether it creates a line or an arc.
A perfectly vertical spring will create a straight line.
A spring that leans to the left or right will create an arc.
Place a hamster on the platform above the spring.
Using the arrow, push down on the spring.
Release the spring to have the hamster draw.
The more you push down on the spring, the further the hamster goes and the higher the arc will be.
