  • Game Controls
    • Desktop
      • Use your mouse to pull back the ball and bring it back forward to throw it.
      • Before charging your throw you can move left or right to start your throw from a spot other than lane center.
      • You can then use your left and right arrow keys on your keyboard to adjust the ball’s path.
    • Touchscreen device
      • Use your finger to pull back the shot and release, then guide the ball down the lane.
    • For desktop and mobile devices the screen orientation must be portrait rather than landscape. If your web browser is in landscape mode you will need to make the width narrower than the height for the game to load.
  • Strategy
    • Bowling, generally
      • Traditional bowling games have 10 frames where each frame (except for the last frame) can have up to 2 throws to try to knock down the 10 pins.
        • Pins are organized into 4 rows of 1, 2, 3 and 4.
        • When you knock down all 10 pins on the first throw that is called a strike, and it allows you to add the points from your next two balls to the current frame.
        • When you knock down all 10 pins in two throws that is called a spare, and it allows you to add the points from the next ball to the current frame.
        • The key to winning at bowling is to try not to leave any open frames, so you score points from the subsequent frame in the current frame.
        • Final frame
          • Since there is no eleventh frame there is no way for your shots in the eleventh frame to impact the tenth frame, thus you can get up to 3 balls in the final frame to still be able to score up to 30 pins in the frame.
          • The final frame can offer a third ball provided you get all 10 pins knocked down across the first 2 throws. Getting a spare and a strike in the final frame is worth 20 points.
          • If you get two strikes to start the tenth frame you get a third ball to throw. Getting 3 strikes in the final frame is worth 30 points.
    • Ball Control
      • In real life most people tend to have their bowling throws move across their body. Right handed people tend to have a bit of a right to left curve with the ball and left handed people tend to have a bit of a left to right curve.
        • For this reason many people typically drop the ball one or two markers away from lane center.
        • If you use a right handed mouse or swipe the ball on a touch device then that is like throwing as a right handed bowler. Similarly true for a left handed mouse.
        • If you angle your throw when you slide your mouse or finger forward you will further accentuate the tendency for the ball to curve.
        • Most people tend to aim for the head pin with the ball slightly on the side of the hand they threw from. If you use a right handed mouse you would aim for the right side of the front pin.
          • Bowling pins are numbered from left to right in rows starting with the center pin as number one.
          • Left handed bowlers usually try to hit the head pin (#1) on the side of pin 2, whereas right hand bowlers try to hit the head pin on the side of pin 3.
      • After you have released the ball you can use the left and right arrows on the keyboard (or your finger on a touchscreen device) to further refine the ball’s shot direction.
        • You can tap one direction on or off, hold one direction, or tap one direction and then tap the other to move the ball back slightly.
    • Lane Obstacles
      • Some lanes have obstacles in them.
      • For jumps it is best to avoid them if you can, but if you go over them try to have the ball roll over the center of them so that the ball may jump vertically but is not thrown off course horizontally.
        • If the ball hits the edge of a jump it will curve away from the jump.
        • Your ability to control the ball after it hits a jump is nil.
      • For blocking beams it is best to outright avoid them as striking one typically (almost always) leads to a gutter ball.
      • When you play in team mode and progress through a few matches some frames have both a blocking beam and a jump on them, almost guaranteeing a gutter ball unless you take evasive maneuvers.
        • There is the ability to hit trick shots where the ball hits a jump, deflects into a beam, and moves down the lane for a strike, but these are nearly impossible to intentionally do.
        • A better approach is to accept the bullet that you have to hit one or the other, choose the ramp, and try to throw the ball in such a way it goes down the center of the ramp.
        • In many cases evading either obstacle requires starting your throw from a different lane marker than you normally would and then using the arrow keys to adjust the ball’s spin and curve.

One comment on "Strike Ultimate Bowling: Cartoon Bowling Game for Kids"

  • Joey says:

This is a Cartoon Network-themed bowling game with multiplayer options. Single player games come in free play (one on one) and tournament games. In most cases, the game plays much like a regular bowling game. Hit as many pins as you can to win. Some lanes, however, have obstacles. This adds a bit of variety and difficulty in later games.

Unlike in real bowling, you can direct the path of the ball. This is useful when it comes to taking down pins. You can also use this to avoid obstacles in obstructed lanes.
