How to Play

Eat peas to turn the Yip-Yips into edible vegetables. Eat all the cookies on each stage to clear the level and play the next.

• Starting the Game
  • Select the word PLAY on the game’s welcome screen.
  • Your web browser automatically saves your high score.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use the arrow keys on your keyboard to move around the playing field.
    • Cookie Monster will continue in the direction you pressed until he runs into a wall, a warp, or one of the Yip-Yips.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • This game was designed primarily for desktop devices, though you can play on mobile devices as well.
    • Tap the screen and slide your finger the direction you would like Cookie Monster to move to change his direction.
  • Controls & indicators
    • Across the top of the game it shows how many lives you have remaining, how charged up your veggies meter is, your current game score, your all time high score, and what level number you are on.
      • The life count shown in the upper left corner includes the life you are on. If it shows one icon there it means you are on your last life and do not have any spare lives.
      • When your veggie meter fills the Yip-Yips turn into edible vegetables.
    • In the upper right corner there are 3 buttons to pause the game, control sound & switch to full screen mode play.
• Game Play
  • Clearing Levels
    • In Pac-Man a level is cleared when the player eats all the pellets. In this game the level is instead cleared when all the cookies are consumed.
  • Enemies
    • Yip-Yips are similar to the ghosts from Pac-Man & you should avoid them when they are in their normal state.
    • When you fill the veggies meter to 100% the Yip-Yips turn to vegetables and you can eat them.
    • The screen blinks just before the vegetables turn back into Yip-Yips.
    • Unlike in Pac-Man some levels can have 2 or 3 different pod areas where Yip-Yips can spawn.
    • Higher levels can have over a half-dozen Yip-Yips on them.
  • Moving
    • Level design in this game is much more complex than in Pac-Man.
    • Similarly to Pac-Man you can warp from one side of the level to the other if you pass through the white parts of the walls.
  • Scoring
    • Each pea you eat is worth 10 points.
    • Each cookie you eat is worth 50 points.
    • When the Yip-Yips turn to vegetables they are worth an increasing point scale when you eat them. The first is 200, the second is 400, and the third is 600. This scale resets each time you activate the Veggies power up.
  • Dying
    • If you run into one of the Yip-Yips and they are not in vegetable state you die.
    • You start the game with 3 lives.
    • You get a free life at 5,000 points, 10,000 points & 20,000 points.
    • When you run out of lives it is game over.
• Target Audience
  • The game is suited for children who like Sesame Street & games inspired by Pac-Man.
  • The game has no adult themed content.
