This is a bird-themed mathematics sorting game that tests a learner’s knowledge of the values of non-whole numbers. Arrange each of the birds according to the size of the number on their bellies. The catch? These numbers can be fractions, decimals, or percentages.

How to Play

Arrange the birds based on the size of the fraction, decimal, or percentage shown in their bellies.

  • Starting the Game
    • On the welcome screen, select the play button below the title of the game to begin.
  • Game Controls
    • Desktop
      • With your mouse, left click to move the birds around.
    • Touchscreen devices
      • Tap on the birds on the screen with your fingers to move them around.
  • Game Play
    • Choose a game mode:
      • Fractions
      • Fractions and decimals
      • Fractions, decimals, and percentages
    • Arrange the birds onto the perch according to the size of the number in their bellies.
      • The proper order is left to right, with the biggest numbers on the right.
      • The number are based on the game mode.
        • The fractions are a mix of proper and improper fractions as well as mixed numbers.
        • Other game modes add decimals and percentages.
      • Once you placed a bird on a perch, you cannot bring it back.
      • If you place a bird in the wrong order, it will squawk angrily and refuse to get on the perch.
    • The game is divided into 5 rounds of 7 birds each.
      • Each round is represented by a different species of bird.
        • Robins
        • Owls
        • Macaws
        • Chickens
        • Penguins
      • After each round, the game informs you of your ratio of right to wrong answers.
      • At the very end, the game tabulates the number of points you earned from the game.
    • After the game ends, help the bird band play a song.
      • Select any of the 2 buttons beneath each bird to play a specific snippet.
      • Turn the snippets on and off to play an entire song with different sets of birds. Mix and match snippets to form a song you like.
      • Once you’re done, return to the welcome screen by selecting the arrow button on the top left corner of the screen.
  • Target Audience
    • The game is suited for children learning about fractions, decimals & percentages.
    • The game has no adult themed content.
