This is a multiplication practice game. We have 2 versions of this game. This version shows numerical values on each tile, whereas the other version of the game is for younger kids and has countable dots on each tile.

Multiplication Mine Game for Kids Game Play Instructions

How to Play

Select runs of adjacent gems with the same numerical value and then solve the equation. Repeat the process until you have achieved the level gem collecting goal.

• Starting the Game
  • Click on the green and white button on the game loading screen.
  • Click on the white and gold button on the game welcome screen.
    • This will bring up the level select screen.
    • Initially only the arcade mode is unlocked, but you can also unlock levels 1 through 8 playing through the game.
    • Your web browser saves your progress.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Use your mouse left click button to select a gem and then drag vertically or horizontally to other gems with the same value.
    • After selecting all gems of the same value that directly touch each other (vertically or horizontally, but not diagonally) it will show the equation you created with the above motion and possible answers at the bottom of the screen. Click on the correct answer.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Touch the screen to use your finger like a mouse.
  • Across the top of the game there is a pause menu button, a sound control button, a level timing meter, your point total, and how many gems you have collected out of the level goal.
• Game Play
  • Strategy
    • If you need to remove an individual gem you can by clicking on it and answering the equation of multiplying itself by 1 to get the solution of itself.
    • It is best to try to get at least 5 gems at a time if you can so that you get bonus items.
    • Using bonus items either adds to your remaining time or point total, but does not count against your level goal for gems.
  • Bonus Items
    • When you get 5 or more gems in a row you will get a special item.
    • Bombs – blow up when clicked, taking out adjacent tiles.
    • Dynamite – blows up the gems in the same column and same row.
    • Stopwatch – adds more remaining time to your level time meter.
    • You do not need to use bonus items if you do not want to. At the end of the level any unused bonus items add to your level score.

  • Students practicing multiplication should like this game.
  • There are no adult themes in this game.
