How to Play
Push fish from the edge of the pool into the water to get 3 in a row.
- Push Fish In The Pool
- Tap on a fish to move it from the edge of the pool inward. Fish can only move directly to the space in front of them.
- The game playing field is a 4×4 grid, yielding 16 squares.
- Repeat the process until you can no longer move.
- All fish you push into the pool are numbered as 1, 2, 3 or 4. The right side of the playing field shows which number fish is next.
- Create Merged Sets
- Try to get 3 fish with the same number in a row across, horizontally, or in combination of the two directions to have the fish merge into a single fish of the next higher integer. The merge location will be wherever the most recent piece was placed to finish the 3 in a row.
- Merges can trigger a sequence of other mergers. For example, if you had three twos in a row and that merged into a 3 that could trigger a three threes merging into a four.
- If you get 3 number sixes in a row it merges into a number 7 which then disappears, removing itself and the fish from the 8 adjacent places from the game field.
- The game is not timed and your score is shown on the right side of the playing field. Your high score is recorded in your local web browser.

Another merge-the-numbers game, Merge Fish swaps number tiles for cartoon fish. The numbers are still there, though. They’re on the fish’s inner tubes. Fish come in increments of one through four. To merge, you must put three or more fish next to one another. You earn combos by merging one set, then completing another. The game ends when you fill up the board.
Unlike other merging games, you’re limited to where you can deploy your fish. They can only come in sequence from the edges. You cannot place new pieces in the middle of the board. Keep track of the next fish in line. This will help you plan out your merging strategy and help you merge higher values faster. You can also take advantage of the combos to bolster your score and clear out more of the board.
This is a cutesy take on the classic merging games, and is just as fun. It’s easy to learn and easy to get lost in. Merge Fish is a great way to whittle away a lazy afternoon.
Merge Fish is a fun and colorful puzzle game that’s easily addictive. The game starts with a board pool and fish lined up at the sides. Each fish comes with a corresponding color and number from 1 to 5. When you click on a fish at the side, it will jump to that part of the pool. Once you’re able to align three or more of the same color and number, it will merge into one fish.
For example, if three fishes with the number two align, it will merge into one number three fish, and so on. You lose when there’s no more space to put new fish in the pool. You gain higher points the more fishes you successfully align. Finally, when you align fish with the number 5, it will eliminate all the fish. The game is played at a leisurely pace. It’s fun and engaging with quirky graphics.
