The goal is to answer the question presented on screen before the monster arrives. The game’s questions are multiple choice. The player must keep choosing the right answers to defeat the monster and keep playing. It’s game over when the monster reaches Math Boy or if the player types the wrong answer.

The game offers five modes. Four of which are for the basic operations, while one is mixed. Besides this, the gameplay remains the same. Math Kid doesn’t have a lot of gameplay variety. It does provide a quick exercise in speedy mental math for young learners.
