How to Play

Bounce from platform to platform making your way to the top of the stage. Collect as many stars as you can while avoiding spikes and cannon fire.

• Starting the Game
  • Press the play button near the bottom of the game’s loading screen to bring up the welcome screen.
  • Press the blue play button in the center of the welcome screen to bring up the level select screen.
    • Levels are unlocked sequentially.
    • Your web browser automatically saves your game progress including beat levels & level ratings.
  • The bottom of the welcome screen has 3 buttons for game developer information, more games, and sound control.
• Game Controls
  • Desktop
    • Your character automatically bounces off of platforms.
    • Press the left arrow key to move left.
    • Press the right arrow key to move right.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap the left side of the screen to move left.
    • Tap the right side of the screen to move right.
  • Controls & indicators
    • The upper left corner of the screen has a pause button.
    • The top center of the screen shows what level you are currently playing.
    • The upper right corner of the screen has a sound control button.
    • The level select screen shows which levels you have unlocked & the star rating earned on each level.

    • This is a vertical platform climbing game where players must avoid spiked objects and cannon fire.
    • Collect as many stars as you can on your journey.
    • Pass through the horizontal dashed line to move onto the next stage.
  • Levels
    • This game has 20 levels which are unlocked sequentially.
      • You can go back and replay previously beat levels at any time.
    • Winning vs losing
      • You win a level by safely reaching the dashed horizontal line across the top of the screen.
      • You lose a level by running into any spiked object, either side of the screen, or getting hit by cannon fire.
      • This game offers unlimited continues which start you back at the beginning of the level you lost.
  • Platforms & obstacles
    • Each level has a variety of platform types and obstacles.
    • Platforms
      • Blue or green platforms – remain in position & you can bounce off them an unlimited number of times.
      • Yellow platforms – these operate similar to blue or green platforms with 2 big exceptions: the bottom of them has spikes that can kill you, and the yellow platforms fall away after you jump on them once.
      • Red platforms – have spikes on top & you instantly die if you touch them. They can be static or moving in a circular pattern.
    • Obstacles
      • Red spiked balls can appear in a static position or along a rail they move on. Running into a red spiked ball is instant death.
      • Cannons shoot balls at you. Running into any of the cannonballs is an instant death. The cannon shots can stay on screen for an extended period of time, particularly if you are moving vertically up the screen and the cannon shot upward.
  • Star ratings
    • You can earn up to 3 stars on each stage by running into the stars.
    • If you earn fewer than 3 stars on a level you can replay it. Your new score will replace the old score if it is higher than the old score.
    • You have to cross the finish line at the top of the screen for the collected stars to count.
  • Tips
    • This is a rather frustrating game for how short it is.
      • In some parts of levels you have to move quickly, while in other parts of levels you have to wait for the level to come into alignment to progress.
      • If you repeatedly fail a level and get frustrated the instinct is to try to speed up, but this game works best if you have patience & enable things to come into alignment.
    • When you are on blue or green platforms you can bounce an unlimited number of times, but when a red spiked ball is coming through you can accidentally bump into it.
      • Make sure you are close to one of the side walls if you are forced to remain bouncing on a platform with a red spiked ball approaching.
    • You can beat a level even if you score fewer than 3 stars on it. If you are struggling to get all 3 stars on a level beat it with a lower score & then come back to it.
    • Double jumps
      • In many cases a platform will have another platform that is almost perfectly aligned with it above it.
        • Try to stand to the side which does not have a platform above it so that you do not get stuck in an accidental double jump which throws off your timing.
      • In some cases a platform will have a yellow platform or red spiked ball directly above it.
        • In these cases it helps to jump on the lower platform with significant horizontal momentum so that when you bounce off of them you do not hit your head on the spikes.
        • In some cases you need to jump across onto a platform in one direction & thenk quickly jump off it in the other direction.
    • Be careful when you approach yellow platforms.
      • Approach from the side & then land on top.
      • If you hit the underside of a yellow platform the spikes will kill you.
      • If you hit the left or right edge of the yellow platform that will often trigger the platform falling away without providing you a bounce jump lift off of it.

  • The game is suited for players who like vertical jumping platforming games.
