How to Play

Learn the differences between uppercase and lowercase letters and how to spaces and periods.

• Starting the Game
  • Select the green and white play button to load the welcome screen.
  • On the welcome screen, select the green play button below the title of the game to begin.
  • The game is narrated. To follow along, make sure your speakers are on.
    • A core part of the game involves the names and sounds of letters.
    • The narration also acts as your guide to the game. To play, you must follow the narrator’s instructions.

    • Use your keyboard to type as instructed.
  • Touchscreen devices
    • Tap on the on-screen keyboard with your fingers as you would with a regular keyboard.

  • Basic rules
    • The game follows the same basic rules as its predecessor. Type in the letters shown on the screen.
    • The game will play the sound of the letter’s name as you typ.
  • Uppercase and lowercase letters
    • One major difference is that this game makes a distinction between uppercase (capital) letters and lowercase letters.
    • The narrator will ask you to press the shift keys on either side of the keyboard.
    • Your exercise will include typing uppercase letters with the shift key, then typing in both upper and lower case letters.
  • Typing words
    • The game will show a word on screen.
    • Type in the entire word. Make sure to type in an uppercase letter at the very beginning of each word.
  • Writing sentences
    • The game’s narrator first introduces you to the period key and space bar.
    • Type in a set of periods and spaces when instructed.
    • Type in the sentence shown onscreen. Remember the rules of writing sentences.
      • It must always start with an uppercase letter and end with a period.
      • Proper nouns (the names of people, movies, etc.) must start with uppercase letters as well.
