FavoriteLoadingAdd game to your favorites

This competitive strategy online checkers game is based on the classic Italian Draughts board game. It comes with an 8 x 8 board where 12 black pieces and 12 white pieces compete for the win. The goal is to tactically capture all your opponent’s pieces while avoiding being caught. You can only move one square diagonally per turn. Try to reach the opposite end of the board to graduate pieces into kings. Kings can move diagonally backward on the board. You can choose to play with the computer or with a friend. Have fun outsmarting your opponents moves to win the game.

  • Move your piece one square diagonally forward. Carefully choose which piece to move per turn.
  • When you land diagonally to the opponent’s piece, it’s mandatory for the opponent to capture your piece.
  • Likewise, if an opponent lands diagonally to your piece, it’s mandatory for you to capture that piece.
  • If you intend to capture a piece, but there is another piece where it should land, the piece cannot be captured.
  • A player can capture 2 pieces from their opponent if there are open spaces for the piece to travel diagonally.

This is a standard and faithful digital recreation of checkers. You have the option to play against a friend or the computer. Your goal is to capture all your enemy’s pieces. Pieces move forward in the diagonal one space at a time. They can only move several spaces when capturing another piece. Players can capture several pieces in one turn if the piece placement allows it.

Pieces become kings when they reach the end. Once crowned, the king piece can move and capture backwards. The game ends when no opponent piece is left or no player can make a legal move.

Piece placement is critical. For much of the early game, you can only move forward. To get ahead, you must engineer situations where you can capture several pieces at once. Kings become important mid-game because you can decimate enemies from behind.

The game follows the rules of English draughts, the most common form of checkers. There are no options to change the rules. The game also enforces mandatory moves, which are an added challenge. This may lead to enforced tactical blunders that will favor your opponent.
