Unlike other games of the genre, you don’t need to worry about saving projectiles to earn a high score. Instead, you must capture all the stars to get the three-star rating. To get this, you often need to use up all your cannonballs. Another quirk in the game is your inability to pan through the entire field. You must fire a few times to get a good idea of the layout of the later levels.

It is a very satisfying, if somewhat gory take on the genre. Its main drawback is its lack of a scrolling option and its brevity. Much of its replay value is in getting the coveted three star rating.
